How I spend money - shows what I love most - shows what I trust (Proverbs 11:28 Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf) - shows if God can trust me (Luke 16:10-12 One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?) 1. It all belongs to God 2. God is using money to test me 3. Money is a tool to be used for God's purposes "The love of money is the root of all evil" - Money is not good or bad 4. Best use of money is to use it to get people to heaven Luke 16:9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. * use world wealth to gain friends and when money is gone, so they will welcome you in heaven 5. One day, I'll give an account to God * how I use my money, talent, and time? Romans 14:12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to God. 6. If I'm faithful with little, God can trust me with more Matthew 25:29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. - He looked ahead (look for your future) Proverbs 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving. - He made a plan (have a budget) Proverbs 16:9 The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. - He acted quickly Luke 16:4 I have decided what to do, so that when I am removed from management, people may receive me into their houses. ~ ~ 1. I've been gambling scratch off tickets from the state thinking that it's just a little kids game. I needed this!! It woke me up. You said my money is supposed to be used to get people in town and then you go on to explain it which is just awesome you're the best preacher we have
